Why I Created This Calendar

As a horse owner who rents a sole-use yard, I know how much there is to juggle — grazing, rugs, worming, field care, trimmer visits… the list never ends, and it changes with the seasons.

During a particularly challenging period in my life, while navigating my own healing journey, I found that keeping on top of everything could feel overwhelming. I needed a simple way to organise tasks, keep track of important reminders and feel a little more in control.

I tried using an equestrian planner, but it was so complicated that it left me feeling even more overwhelmed. What I really needed was something simpler — a calendar that was easy to use, with enough space to make it my own, alongside helpful seasonal guidance and ideas.

That’s why I created The Horse Owner’s Year: a practical, thoughtfully designed calendar to help horse owners plan ahead, record their own reminders and discover tasks they might not have considered. With seasonal checklists, moon phases and advice tailored to the UK and Northern Hemisphere seasons, it brings together useful information and space to organise your own plans — helping you feel more organised and spend less time worrying about what you might have forgotten, and more time enjoying your horses.
